About Kari Hutchins
Hi! Thank you for checking out my website. My name is Kari Hutchins, and I recently published my debut women's fiction novel, Deconstructing, which is the first book in the series.
Though originally from sunny Southern California, I am now based near Louisville, KY. I have an amazing and supportive wife, Ashley and we have three, grown children and a plus one (future daughter in law) that we love to spend time with. Whether it's family dinner, game night or a themed party at our house, we are always having the best time.
I am a huge animal lover, my wife and I have a mini zoo- 4 dogs (Winnie, Kibo, Marley and Maisy) and 3 cats (Benny, Kobe and Ziggy.) I always wanted to have a bunch of animals, and I am blessed to be married to someone that loves them as much as I do. Our animals are like kids to us, very spoiled and even more loved.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, fishing, hiking, thrifting, reading and crafting. I am most happy near any body of water. Writing has always been a passion of mine though it has looked different throughout my life. I started writing poems when I was very young, one of the poems I wrote when I was in 1st grade was selected to be included in a book of children's poems. Though I continued to write poetry, as I got older, I started to do theater, and that lead to my love for writing scripts for plays and monologues. Once I became a mom at a young age, my focus turned toward raising my children for many years. As the need for hand holding started to wane, I came back to my love of writing and set a goal for myself: write a novel.
I wish I could say I knocked this book out quickly, but I have raging ADHD and I swim in the sea of self-doubt, so it took me awhile to find my confidence and get the book out. I look forward to writing more and I am currently writing book 2 of the series. I look forward to hearing from readers so please feel free to reach out to me, let me know what you liked, loved, or even hated about the book. I am looking to grow as a writer.
Finally, if you have read Deconstructing, please consider leaving an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads, it means SO much to indie authors like me. Thank you for the support.
